Hi, guys! I think the first post here must by really powerful. So, I wanna depict today the most inspiring castles. But I believe that a true castle can be built only in middle ages, later castles are only humble copy-paste of them. This list is based on the more complete list of nice castles and you can follow the link above to explore many castle beyond medieval. Also you can read a lot of information on Wikipedia.

  1. Edinburgh Castle. My favorite castle built in 1150 by the Scottish king David I. The symbol of Edinburgh and Scotland at all. Nobody has not conquered it ever.
  2. Malbork Castle. It's enough to say that it is the largest castle ever. It was built by the order of Teutonic Knights as main residence of Great Master.
  3. Cite de Carcassonne. You can see this castle on the left-hand side of the page. This one of my favorite castles was built in Roman times and belonged to the Arabs for some centuries.
  4. Krak des Chevaliers. A rare European castle outside Europe. It was founded near Damascus by the order of the Knights Hospitallers after a successful crusade.
  5. Tower of London. A symbol of London, a good example of Norman architecture and the most notable landmark of kingdom of England for many centuries.
